In order to develop the National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales, the Participation Cymru Advisory Panel hosted an open meeting which was open to any one within the Public and Third sectors who was interested in this work.

As varied pieces of work had already been carried out in this field, the purpose of the initial meeting was to collate and evaluate existing material before. The materials submitted to Participation Cymru as exemplar documents can be downloaded below and you can download the report that was subsequently submitted to the Welsh Assembly Government  here.

TPAS Cymru (Tenant Participation Advisory Service and a member of Participation Cymru's Advisory Panel) and Participation Cymru then drafted some initial principles for consideration, which were then consulted upon. The consultation exercise had 2 components: a survey questionnaire online and available in hard copy, and a series of 4 consultation workshops across Wales. A summary of the main points from the consultation responses is available here.
