Communities First Community Involvement Plans - Peer exchange workshops

22 May 2012

28 May, 9.30 am – 1.30 pm, Bettws Life Centre, Bridgend
11 June, North Wales (advice surgery only)
13 June, 9.30 am – 1.30 pm, Felinfoel Resource Centre, Llanelli

These FREE peer exchange workshops are hosted by the Communities First Service and Support service and co-facilitated by Participation Cymru. They provide honest and safe environments in which Communities First workers can comment and critique each other’s Community Involvement Plans in order to improve them.

It is constructively critical session that takes place in small groups of 3-4 people. It is loosely facilitated, but not led, by the hosts.

It is an opportunity to explain the thinking behind features of your own Community Involvement Plan and to test innovative ideas with informed individuals.

Participation Cymru will also host a refresher session on the National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales.

The workshop is reliant on reciprocality - in order to receive comment on their plans, participants must provide it to others in their group.

Objectives:

  • To provide a forum for the sharing of draft and complete Community Involvement Plans
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for content, techniques and ways of evaluating Community Involvement
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for how Community Involvement Plans can complement Cluster Delivery Plans
  • Raise awareness of the prospect of a toolkit for evaluating principles of engagement (currently in draft)

Please email your draft Community Involvement Plan to rtodd@wcva.org.uk before the workshop.

You are welcome to bring your own laptop. Please ensure it is fully charged in order to minimise the number of trailing leads in the premises.

An advice surgery will also be held on 11 June in North Wales on the Community Involvement Plans.
