About Us
Participation Cymru is a partnership of public and third sector organisations that is hosted by WCVA and supported by an Advisory Panel that provides advice and guidance on strategic development. We provide innovative training, support, information and policy directions in participatory approaches to citizen engagement. In response to the Welsh Assembly Government’s 'Making The connections: Delivering Better Services for Wales', Participation Cymru aims to support public service providers in their commitment to participation and citizen engagement thus ensuring excellent public services that are vital to a prosperous, sustainable, healthier and better-educated Wales.
Until now, Participation Cymru has focussed on building the participatory knowledge and expertise of third sector organisations in order to empower communities. We will continue to do this whilst also providing advice and support to public service organisations to improve their service delivery to the people of Wales through participation and citizen engagement.
We also have a comprehensive training programme, which includes a variety of courses for organisations that are looking to develop their skills in public engagement approaches, methods and techniques. A bespoke training service is also available so that training can be designed and delivered specifically for the needs of public service organisations.
Our newsletter provides regular information and training opportunity updates, and for practical support you might like to attend one of the participation networks that run throughout Wales. This site also contains a number of useful resources that will be of assistance with facilitation and developing participatory approaches to citizen engagement and consultation.
