People and Patient Involvement training for Local Health Boards in Wales

11 Mar 2010

Recently Participation Cymru successfully delivered a three day training event for the Aneurin Bevan Health Board that was aimed at frontline staff, members of the patients’ panel and volunteers within the health board.

It was co-designed by members of the PPI team with the health board, NLIAH (who funded the training) and Participation Cymru trainers. It aimed to meet the needs of those who are committed to engaging with the public at large and patients in particular on the services they provide.

Following from the training each participant identified a project to develop and deliver as a consequence of the training. The results of each project will be presented to the Executive Board over the coming year.

Participation Cymru is very excited about this new way of working with health and sees the training and the follow on work as crucial to the developing of engagement champions within the Local Health Boards across Wales.
