Calling all those who work in Health, Social Care & Wellbeing – don’t miss this opportunity to hear the latest straight from the Welsh Assembly Government, Wales Local Government Association and others, and have a say. Don’t miss hearing about and influencing key activity for 2010:
- Short brief from the Welsh Assembly Government on the Independent Commission for Social Services - the Commission is ‘keen to receive evidence from as wide a group as possible’ and the timescale is fast moving with the deadline of 26 February 2010 for receipt of submissions.
- Local Health Social Care and Wellbeing Planning and how communities get involved – Beverlea Frowen, Director for Social Care and Health Improvement, Wales Local Government Association (WLGA) on the importance of the local Health Social Care and Wellbeing Strategies and how they will inform the LHBs, followed by a discussion with a panel of representatives from the LHBs and the third sector.
- The Framework of Services for Older People – Welsh Assembly Government team leading this cross sector work, promoting the development of the appropriate range of local services working together to respond to the needs and the preferences of older people and their carers. The range of services includes social care, housing and transport and other local government services together with services provided by the local private and third sector, and services provided by and in partnership with health services.
- Revision of the Health Care Standards – Lisa Howells, Welsh Assembly Government on what’s being developed as the revision, followed by a workshop session enabling input into the consultation.
- The Rural Health Plan – Helen Howson, Senior Health Strategy Advisor, Welsh Assembly Government on how the Plan will be taken forward following the consultation on it last year.
- In Llandrindod Wells and Rhyl additional workshops: Consultation on the just published Review of Adult Social Care by the Law Commission, and for Llandrindod a workshop looking at how the local groups engage with the Ministerial meetings, and in Rhyl a workshop giving the opportunity to look in detail at positive partnership working between the third sector and local government in Wrexham.
