Try It

4 Dec 2009

Try it is a strand of Make it Happen, an UnLtd Sport Relief Award. It can give support and up to £1,000 for young people to use sport, art or recreational activities to overcome an issue in their community and bring people together through a new short project or one off event. Projects should:

  • Provide an opportunity for young people to meet new people, engage in activities they wouldn’t normally take part in and connect with other young people from different backgrounds and walks of life.
  • Encourage young people to think about social issues that are relevant to them.
  • Encourage young people to think about how they would like to address these issues.
  • Provide a learning experience for the applicant.

Applications are accepted at the beginning of every month until July 2010. The outcome of the grant is decided upon by a panel of young people from all over that was set up by UnLtd in order to empower young people. There is a regional Wales team who can also come out, help set up and run Dragon's Den type pitching sessions for first stage projects to directly engage with young people.
