Welsh Assembly Government online consultation and engagement work

4 Dec 2009

The Welsh Assembly Government has been focussing on the overall accessibility of its consultation activity and has now made some real improvements to the consultation pages of its internet site – improving access and transparency.

  • Headline information on all consultations is now presented in a clear, consistent format – making it easier for users to browse key information on open and recently closed consultations at a glance.
  • For each live consultation we show the number of days left to respond and there are summary highlight reports (automatically updated) on i) consultations recently added and ii) those that are closing soon. Each provides a hyperlink to the source documents.
  • There is a dedicated search facility within the consultation pages, allowing users to search for key words with results limited to consultations.
  • Consultations to be responded to online in real time.
  • A weekly e-newsletter has been developed that provides an email summary of consultations i) recently added and ii) closing in the next seven days - with hyperlinks to each featured consultation. It will allow those who subscribe to receive a weekly notification of the Welsh Assembly Government’s current consultation activity, eliminating the need to routinely monitor the website.
