Participatory Budgeting empowers Ruthin residents

25 Sep 2009

Denbighshire County Council has set up a new working group as part of a Participatory Budgeting scheme in Ruthin. The group will decide how £25,000 can be best invested in a play facility at the town's Cae Ddol Park. This will enable local people to decide the priorities for spending at the park. Further information can be found here.

Participation Cymru will be delivering Participatory Budgeting training in collaboration with the Participatory Budgeting Unit, which will provide participants with the practical knowledge and tools to run participatory budgeting exercises with the local community/service users. With an emphasis on workshops and real-life examples and good practice, this is an exciting course for any organisation interested in involving their communities in deciding their spending priorities. The course will be run in both Cardiff and Wrexham, with dates to be confirmed. For further information please contact us.
